Our Vision is to remove gigatons (that's billions of tons) of CO2 from the atmosphere in a permanent, scalable and safe way.

Our Mission is to enable farmers in the tropics to replace synthetic fertilisers, pesticides and limestone with (silicate) rock powder from local mines.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DESIRED OUTCOMES
As a Head of Carbon you will be connecting the dots between developments on international carbon markets, field experiments, 3rd party certification, MRV and modeling of Enhanced Rock Weathering (ERW) in the tropics. You will be in steady dialogue with all departments of InPlanet as well as international specialists to drive the development and acceptance of ERW as a major solution for Carbon Dioxide Removal (CDR).

You will also be responsible for shaping InPlanets product development and aligning demand, needs and requirements between ERW stakeholders. Furthermore, you need to be on top of a diversity of topics and perspectives, being able to zoom in on tiny details as well as zoom out to see the bigger picture. 

To fulfil this role you will bring a combination of science expertise, precision, focus, hands-on mentality, positive energy and the ability to drive things forward. 
KEY SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES WE ARE LOOKING FOR
  • You connect, cross-functional dots of all relevant aspects to create high quality carbon removal credits though ERW in the tropics
  • You compare, present and discuss different needs and approaches to drive our product development 
  • You can lead the 3rd party certification process of InPlanet
  • You support InPlanet to scale and grow to deliver Mt of CDR fast
  • Skill to break down complex problems and present them in a clear and concise way
  • You studied Geology, Soil science, Environmental Sciences, Earth Sciences or a related field, having a PhD in a relevant area is a plus
  • You are a demonstrated fast learner and want to steadily improve your professional and personal skill set
  • You are passionate about solving Climate Change and Carbon Removal
  • You are fluent (written and verbal) in English, Portuguese is a plus
  • Knowledge about carbon markets is a plus, 3rd party certification & MRV, blockchain technology, Life Cycle Assessment, Geographical Information Systems, modeling & simulations, machine learning & AI
